Lunar New Year 2016

Chinese people believe that a good start to the year will lead to a lucky year.  This year the lunar calendar starts on February 8,  Year of the Monkey.  Seattle will celebrate with lion dance demonstrations at the malls, local community and organization dinners.  Bellevue will host a weekend at the mall with live performance, music and more…Jesse Tam, large gathering of friends and family will attend these events and celebrations

The main traditional celebrations of the festival include eating reunion dinner with family, giving red envelopes, firecrackers, new clothes, and decorations. More modern celebrations include watching the CCTV Gala, instant message greetings, and cyber money gifts.

The Chinese New Year period is a good time to visit China if you are interested in traditional Chinese culture. But you should be prepared for travel chaos and transport stress around China. It seems the whole nation is on the move during the festival. The festival is the busiest travel season in the world, when trains and buses are fully packed. Even flight tickets can be hard to get.  The migrant workers will find any way to return to their homes and villages with gifts and goods for the families. More post on  http://bit.ly/1opkxyz
